“The ideal candidate for the position of Spartak coach is Valery Karpin. For Rostov, he offers technical, combined and fast football, which fully corresponds to Spartak. For me, Valery Georgievich is the best option on the Russian market. if he is appointed head coach and he adds more football players to Spartak, then they can do a lot of things,” Tikhonov said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Valery Karpin currently holds the positions of head coach of Rostov and the Russian national team. He led Spartak twice and twice led the team to national championship silver medals.
Bosnian Vladimir Sliskovich is currently the interim head coach of Spartak. The red and white occupy fifth place in the RPL ranking with 46 points.
