Former Spartak footballer Andrei Tikhonov answered the question of whether he was ready to become the head coach of the “red and whites”.
—Are you ready to lead? “Spartacus” if such an opportunity presents itself?
– No.
— Is it a lack of coaching experience or something else?
— Many of our Spartak players are ready or dream of leading the team, but do they correspond to this level? It’s a big responsibility and a big burden, so I say no,” Tikhonov said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Tikhonov played for Spartak from 1992 to 2000. As a member of the Moscow club, he became eight times champion of Russia.
After finishing his playing career, Tikhonov served as assistant coach of Spartak twice.
