The Red Devils are preparing to change their coach
Manchester United identified a mentor Brentford Thomas Frank priority option for the post of head coach of the team.
The Brentford coach has a contract with the club until the summer of 2027. However, the Bees’ successful performance under his leadership impressed Manchester United management.
Manchester United can either fire Dutchman Erik ten Hag at the end of the season or give him another chance. Ten Hag took charge of Manchester United in the summer of 2022, coming from Ajax. In his first season he finished third with the Red Devils and also won the 2023 EFL Cup.
Among ten Hag’s potential successors were Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank and Gareth Southgate. At the end of March it became known that the club intended to negotiate with Wolverhampton coach Gary O’Neill.
Manchester United will play Manchester City in the FA Cup final. In the Premier League standings, ten Hag’s team is in eighth place, Brentford, where Ukrainian Egor Yarmolyuk plays, is in 16th place.
