The experienced player will join the new club until 2025 with an option to extend for another year
Los Angeles FC officially announced the signing of a contract with Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman will leave at the end of this season Milan free agent and will join the new club until 2025.
The 37-year-old forward will join his new team as a designated player (the so-called “Beckham rule”, under which players are not subject to the salary cap). The agreement provides for an extension option until 2026.
It was previously reported that the experienced Frenchman would sign a contract with Los Angeles until the end of 2025. Olivier reached an agreement with the MLS club back in March.
This season, Giroud has made 45 appearances for Milan in all competitions. The forward scored 16 goals and gave nine assists.
Milan are in second place in Serie A. In the next round, the Rossoneri will play Torino on May 18.
Los Angeles is in fifth place in the MLS Western Conference. The team, coached by Stephen Cherundolo, has 18 points from 12 matches.
