Carragher believes Ortega brought Manchester City Premier League victory

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher expressed the opinion that the goalkeeper “Manchester City » Stefan Ortega brought the “townspeople” victory in the English championship.

In the postponed 34th round match, Manchester City faced Tottenham in London. In the 86th minute, with the score 0:1, the home team’s striker Son Heung-min found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but could not beat Ortega. A few minutes later, City scored the second goal and won 2:0.

“Ortega brought them the Premier League title tonight. Obviously, a lot was accomplished during the season. If Ortega had not made the save when the score was 1:0, Arsenal would have won the championship. That’s how close it is. Son’s chance is a moment that Arsenal fans will remember five to ten years from now. Even if they win the title in the next five years, this chance will always haunt them,” Carragher was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

With one round remaining, Manchester City has scored 88 points and is at the top of the standings. Second-placed Arsenal are two points behind. In the last round, Manchester City will play at home against West Ham, Arsenal will host Everton.
