Hero of the 8th round of the 2nd stage of the First League Studenko: “Girnyak-Sport is in a good mood, now everything depends on us”

Miner-sport won an extremely important victory in the eighth round of the “Knockout” group of the First League over Kharkov Metalist (2:1). This victory allowed Valery Kutsenko’s team to continue the fight to maintain their place in the division. The main hero of the meeting was striker Vyacheslav Studenko, came on as a substitute in the 75th minute and managed to score a double ten minutes laterbringing his team victory.

An interesting fact from Sport Arena: Studenko scored all three goals for his new team in Transcarpathia – he scored in Khust in March, and now he scored a double in Uzhgorod.

“I’m very pleased that I was recognized as the best in the tour,” says Sport Arena Studenko. “But the main thing is that the team won.” I am very glad that I helped the team and was chosen as the best.

– Is it difficult to enter the game as a substitute?

– No, it’s not hard. We were determined, the team supported each other. We missed, we had to pull ourselves together and it’s great that everything worked out.

– Before this round, Gornyk-Sport had not won 10 matches in a row. The team was definitely not the worst in the game, but why, in your opinion, did they fail to achieve results?

– Perhaps there was a lack of luck, character, there was no team spirit. And with Metalist all this happened.

– Was the move difficult? How did you recover and how did you feel on game day?

– Everything was fine. We left earlier, so it wasn’t very difficult.

– What did the coaching staff focus on before the game with Metalist?

– Play only to win. We analyzed the opponent well and gave all our strength for success.

– How much pressure did responsibility for the result put on you?

– There was no nervousness, everyone understood that they needed to play calmly. Everyone understood that after the defeat at home it was necessary to rehabilitate themselves, everyone was in the mood for success.

– Against Metalist, you played far from your best game, but you were able to win a strong-willed victory. How did you achieve your goal?

– The team played well, but failed to score. The substitutions helped, they played with freshness. The main thing was to score, because there were chances. The match performed by our team turned out to be good overall.

– You came on in the 75th minute and scored a brace ten minutes later. What is your most effective match so far?

– Yes, he came on as a substitute and scored twice. The main thing is that the team won and I managed to score, thanks to our entire team for that. The match was good not only from my side, but from the whole team. And this, I think, helped me score and Gornyk-Sport to win.

– The previous match with Khust was also of high quality for you…

– It was also given to us. But a missed goal, then another quickly, knocked us out of our rut, it was hard after that. But we wanted to win, I think that the game was victorious, which we let go.

– Remember the moments with your goals. Did your scoring instinct help you score?

– First goal? The coaches always said to be on the cutting edge. It was a good pass and I did what I needed to do. And the second goal was the result of an earned free kick, the ball flew at me and there was some luck somewhere, which in recent matches turned away from us, which allowed the ball to end up in the goal.

– Is victory in Uzhgorod important psychologically?

– Yes, when you win, you want more, more. After the match the guys were in a great mood.

– Gornyk-Sport is in the direct relegation zone, so in the last two rounds we should beat Podolia and Bukovyna. This is an extremely difficult task. Do you believe that you can maintain your registration in the First League?

– Of course I believe. After the victory, the team is in a good mood and everything depends only on us. Moreover, in the first round we did not lose to both teams. Since we haven’t won at home yet, we need to do everything possible to do so.

– Who invited you to Gornyak-Sport and immediately agreed to the offer?

– Head coach of Gornyak-Sport Valery Kutsenko called, and I was without a team. Therefore, I didn’t think twice and almost immediately arrived in Horishni Plavni. I understand that we need to help the team stay in the First League. I will do everything for this, because everyone wants it.

– Who helped you take your first steps in football?

– I studied in Nikolaev, at the Sports and Youth Sports School. The first coach is Arkady Anatolyevich Chunikhin. Then there were all the good coaches.

– Which team has managed to reveal its potential the most so far?

– I think this is the Energy that was revealed there. There was an important period for me in Energy. I scored there and my confidence increased.

– Which coaches can you mention?

– This is, of course, Oleg Fedorchuk and Eduard Khavrov. They helped me, I was 21 – such an age that I already needed to show a high-quality game.

– Probably, you don’t want to remember the period of performances for you? Do you regret signing a contract with this club?

– Before the war everything was fine. The war began, by winter it was not bad, but then funding disappeared and it became difficult. As for the team, everything was great.

– Did working with Valery Kutsenko benefit you? How modern is his approach to the training process?

– Only positive impressions. Supports and encourages human qualities at the highest level. The approach of a young specialist who will always help, communication with the team is at the level.
