According to media reports, Manchester United is ready to pay up to 50 million euros for a Belgian or Ukrainian
According to Spanish media, Manchester United shows interest in both of Real Madrid’s main goalkeepers – the Belgian Thibaut Courtois and the Ukrainian Andrey Lunin. The Red Devils can pay up to 50 million euros.
However, the management of the Madrid club is determined to retain both goalkeepers for next season. The extension of the contract with Lunin for five years will take place in the near future. The agreement with Courtois is valid until 2026, but both president Florentino Perez and head coach Carlo Ancelotti do not want to part with the Belgian, who missed most of the current season due to injury, but is already playing with all his might in La Liga matches.
This season, Andrei played 30 matches in all tournaments, missed 28 goals, and kept the goal intact on 12 occasions. In particular, his four saves helped Ancelotti’s team defeat Bayern Munich (2:1) and reach the Champions League final.
Long negotiations between the Madrid team and Lunin provoked more active contenders for the Ukrainian. In the 2023/2024 Champions League final, Real Madrid will play against Borussia Dortmund, which beat PSG on aggregate. The final of the main European Cup will take place on June 1 in London.
