“It turned out to be a very interesting match on Wednesday. I must say that CSKA had several rather dangerous moments, but the Zenit players were great and played reliably. If Zenit had scored in the 11th minute , then, most likely, we would have made it simpler. I am very happy that Zenit finally reached the Country Cup superfinal.

On May 15, Zenit defeated CSKA on penalties at home in the second leg of the RPL Russian Cup final (0:0, 5:4 on penalties). In the superfinal of the tournament, Sergei Semak’s team will face Baltika Kaliningrad. The Zenit – Baltika match will take place on June 2 in Moscow at the Luzhniki stadium.
Note that before yesterday’s match against CSKA, Zenit had failed to win five matches in a row.
