FIFA creates anti-racism protocol with three steps and gesture of denunciation

After cases multiply weekly, FIFA creates a protocol to fight racism with a gesture of denunciation and the possibility of ending the match

With cases accumulating weekly, the FIFA decided to create an anti-racism protocol and will disseminate the recommendations to all 211 members of the organization. In addition to providing three action steps to judges, who will be responsible for taking the appropriate measures, the entity also created a gesture to denounce the crime.

The gesture will be performed with crossed fists and an open hand, and from that, three different actions will be performed. The first step will be to announce it on the stadium’s sound system to ask that this not happen again. If it continues, the match may be temporarily suspended, with the possibility of the teams returning to the dressing rooms.

In the third, the game referee may decide to end the match, putting defeat on the team’s record associated with racist acts. Furthermore, FIFA stated that it will fight for racism to be considered a crime in all countries, and announced that it will create a specific education program, because, according to it, “no child is born racist“.
