Sport Arena, together with the PFL, is naming the hero of the next round in the Second League. In the 28th round this is Chaika midfielder Vladislav Klimenko
The Chaika coaching staff did not take team veterans or experienced players to the away match against Trostyanets. Thus, the visiting youth had every chance to prove themselves, but the fans did not see any goals scored until the end of the second half.
And then the replacement of Sizikhin worked, and the fresh Vladislav Klimenko scored twice, allowing us to get three away points. These are the first effective actions of the team’s winter newcomer and immediately victorious. Therefore, it is not surprising that Sport Arena and the PFL press service recognized the player as the Hero of the 28th round.
Exclusively for the Sport Arena website, Chaika midfielder Vladislav Klimenko shared his impressions of the team’s play, the victory over Trostyanets and the high-quality play of teammate Sychevsky.
“I didn’t expect to win in this nomination,” says Sport Arena Vladislav. – But I am very pleased, it inspires me to work more actively.
– Chaika no longer has any special tournament motivation; the team will finish the season in fourth place. Perhaps this even benefits you psychologically, does it allow you to play more relaxed?
– We don’t look at the standings. It is important for us to bring positive emotions to our fans, so we go out to win every match.
– With what expectations did you approach the game with Trostyanets, who was led by the experienced Yuri Bakalov before the game? You arrived at the match with a somewhat weakened squad…
– This game was indicative for me personally and other young players on our team. We must show whether we can withstand such an opponent without more experienced players. We understood that the game would not be easy, it could not have been otherwise. Moreover, you correctly noted that the home team had a new coach, so each player wanted to show their best side. But we achieved our result and are happy with it.
– You started this match from the bench. What did the coach demand from you before entering the field?
– We played in a draw, there wasn’t much time left until the end of the match. Therefore, Sergei Valerievich asked to play more aggressively in attack. He asked to get away from the defenders and score. Glad I went over installing it.
– In the 78th minute, you took advantage of Gesel’s mistake and confidently beat the goalkeeper. Remember this episode?
– Yes, I later rewatched this episode more than once. Indeed, he took advantage of the opponent’s player’s mistake and scored. I consider speed to be my “superpower”. And there’s no getting around it (smiling– approx. Sports Arena).
– In injury time you scored your second goal of the match..
– I took advantage of another mistake by the same player. But I will also note the pass from Sychevsky, who picked up the ball and made a clear pass. It’s nice to score a double, but that’s history. Let’s move on.
— In your opinion, was Chaika able to reach her potential in the spring part or were they still expecting more stable play?
– In my opinion, yes, the potential has been revealed. We had a good winter training camp in Kyiv. Every day we worked on different football components and prepared properly. As a result, Chaika has not lost for more than three months.
– Tell us about your move to Chaika? Perhaps there were any other suggestions?
– Of course there were. I admit, I was not able to gain a foothold in the first team of Chaika under a different coach. When Sergei Sizikhin took over the team, he invited me to stay on the team, but at that time I agreed to try out at another club. I’m glad that in the end I returned to my native team.
– How long did it take to adapt to the requirements of Dinaz’s coaching staff?
– In a new team there are always new demands from the coach. But if you have a mentor – Ukrainian football star Alexander Golovko, then you hang on his every word with renewed energy. So I listened to his advice and did what was needed.
– How would you rate the work under Golovko’s leadership? How productive was this collaboration for you?
– Alexander Borisovich taught me many things in football, I am very grateful to him for that. I always liked him as a coach.
– What do you remember most from children’s and youth football? Who contributed the most to your development as a footballer?
– I played a lot in children’s football. It’s nice that almost every coach told me that I have the potential to play somewhere higher. But the first Football Academy was Chaika. I am very grateful to the coaches from the Academy – Maxim Golovko and Bogdan Chatel. It was their contribution that helped me play at a professional level.
– What tasks do you set for yourself for the near future?
– It’s simple: just go forward and don’t stop!
