Daniil Ignatenko spoke about the baseless accusations against him from his opponent.
Daniil Ignatenko was found not guilty in a case involving racist charges. This was announced by the former footballer of the Ukrainian national team himself.
According to the Bordeaux midfielder, the whole case was initially based on the inventions of a rival football player who could not calmly cope with the defeat of his team.
“Yesterday I was found not guilty in this situation, because no statements were made to the player accusing me of strong words that were invented by a player from the opposing team, who tried to provoke me throughout the game, but he did not succeed.
And after the game he said I was a racist. Why he did this and thought of everything, I don’t understand. The case is closed, and I am not guilty,” Ignatenko said in a comment to the Tribune.
Let’s recall that it was previously reported that during the French Ligue 2 match with Dunkirk (2:0), Ignatenko allegedly called opposing defender Alyoun Ba a racist word shortly before leaving the field.
Let’s add that this season Daniil scored 2 goals and 1 assist in 32 matches for Bordeaux. However, the club was unable to return to League 1.
