Daniel’s victory in the title fight is a good sign for Usik
Ukrainian Daniel Lapin (10-0, 4 KOs) won an early victory over the Portuguese Octaviu Pudivitrom (9-2, 4 KOs) in a title fight WBA Continental in light heavyweight.
The fight took place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on the undercard of the main fight of the year – the confrontation between Alexander Usik and Tyson Fury for the status of the undisputed heavyweight champion.
Pudivitr did not last even one round against Lapin. The Ukrainian managed to punch his opponent with a powerful jab, and then Daniel continued the attack, leaving the Portuguese no chance and forcing him to capitulate early.
Lapin, 26, continued his winning streak by adding a new title to the IBO Continental belt he won last August. It is curious that this also happened on the undercard of the fight with Usik, and then Alexander won (over Daniel Dubois).
The unification fight between Usik and Fury will begin approximately after midnight. The referee in the ring will be Mark Nelson, and the boxers’ actions in rounds will be counted by Manuel Oliver Palermo from Spain, Craig Metcalf from Canada and Mike Fitzgerald from Jacksonville, USA.
