Guardiola: I’m staying next season, but then I’m inclined to leave

The Spaniard’s contract with the City runs until the summer of 2025

Head coach Manchester City Pep Guardiola said that he is close to leaving the club at the end of his current contract.

“The reality is that I am closer to leaving than staying. We talked to the club – I feel like I want to stay now. I’ll stay next season. But we’ll talk later in the season. Eight or nine years at the club – we’ll see.”

Guardiola has been in charge of Manchester City since 2016. The Spaniard’s current contract runs until the end of the 2024/25 season. Under the leadership of the Spaniard, the Citizens became champions of England six times, won two FA Cups and four English League Cups, won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and also won a number of other trophies.

Pep Guardiola’s team will have to play one official match at the end of the season. City will play Manchester United in the FA Cup final on May 25.
