Ukrainian won the WBO lightweight champion belt
Former two-weight world champion Timothy Bradley believes that he is Ukrainian Denis Berinchik deservedly defeated the Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete in a fight for the WBO lightweight title.
“It was the sloppiest championship fight I’ve ever seen. Navarrete met his resistance in terms of inconvenience. This guy was the same, and even more clumsy than Navarrete. At the same time, Berinchik turned out to be more technical.”
“Denis had the opportunity to make things right every time Emmanuel attacked him. Navarrete had problems with his footwork, especially when he stepped back and his opponent took advantage of this.”
“Berinchik stayed close and strangled Navarrete. Huge respect to Denis and his team. They played a phenomenal fight. During training camp, they mixed all the styles that would give their opponent problems, even their footwork. Everything was very helpful.”
Let us remind you that on the night of May 19 in San Diego, America, Berinchik defeated Navarrete by a split decision and won the long-awaited WBO world lightweight title.
Earlier, in April, K2 Promotions CEO Alexander Krasyuk said that the contract stipulated a rematch between the Ukrainian and the Mexican. Another option of the contract is fights with champions of other associations, including a show with WBC champion Shakur Stevenson. According to the same Krasyuk, a unification fight against Stevenson is more realistic for Denis than a confrontation with Vasily Lomachenko.
