Pep Guardiola’s warning to Manchester City that shakes England

The Spanish coach explained that he would stay for next season, but left the window open to leave the Mancunian club at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Manchester City has made English history. The Pep Guardiola-led team won a historic quadruple Premier League championship. A new achievement for a team that took its first steps to be competitive with Roberto Mancini, who later consolidated with Manuel Pellegrini and has definitely transformed into a team feared by the Spanish coach.

In eight years, the former Bayern Munich man has become the most important coach in the history of the British team. And this Sunday he dropped a real bombshell in the middle of the celebrations after the new title. The reality is that I am closer to leaving than staying. We spoke with the club and my feeling now is that I want to stay. “I will stay next season and during this season we will talk.” he explained.

The former Barcelona player spoke about his achievements with the celestial club. “When I moved here, if anyone had told me I would win six championships in seven seasons, I would say they were crazy. Now is our time. “I’m not saying I’m a bad manager, but I have incredible support from the club,” he said.

He also had words for the fight for the trophy, which this year lasted until the last day. “At first we didn’t think about it, but in January or February I wondered why not. With our experience we fought for the titles, but we got the message. We know that Arsenal will be here for many years. Arteta is a young and very talented coach. We must be careful,” he warned.

Since 2016, Guardiola has won 17 titles for Manchester City. It has six Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, four League Cups, two Community Shields, one Champions League, one European Super Cup and one Club World Cup. This season they have won three trophies and could add another if they beat United in the derby which will be the FA final at Wembley.

One of the protagonists of the team was Kyle Walker , the winger is key for Guardiola and by being captain, he immediately became the reference. “The last few years have been very special for everyone at Manchester City but being the captain of this club and winning the fourth title in a row is something I will remember forever. “The Premier League is the benchmark by which we all measure ourselves.” he noted amid the celebrations.

“It is recognized as the toughest and most competitive championship in the world, so winning four games in a row illustrates what we have managed to win collectively. For me personally, to have captained such a special and talented team of players this season has been a huge honor and privilege. he added.

For its part, Phil Foden one of the heroes of the last game, said: “It’s very difficult to express it in words. We are already in the history books. No team had done it until now. “You can already see what it means to the fans and what it means to us.”

“We’ve worked really hard to get to this moment here. It’s very special to be able to share this with the fans. This experience helps us reduce our nervousness. Today we were confident. We just played our football and it finally paid off. It was a perfect start. We score very early. I never get bored of winning the Premier League. I want this feeling every time. “I want to continue to win as much as possible,” he added.
