Khimki midfielder Saminu Abdallahi on the air MATCH PRIME explained why he decided to leave Dynamo Makhachkala in winter and move to a club near Moscow.
23-year-old Abulahi played for Dynamo in the first part of the MELBET First League season, played 19 matches for the Makhachkala team, scored 2 goals and gave 3 assists. In winter, the Nigerian settles in Khimki.
“The agent gave me this opportunity, gave me a choice: either stay longer at Dynamo, or immediately go to Moscow. I chose the second option, because you need to take a step forward if possible. I understand that with Khimki I have better chances of playing in RPL.
I flew to Nigeria after finishing my last match for Dynamo. The agent called me and told me to return to Russia and undergo a medical examination for Khimki. At the end of November I spent some time in Nigeria, returned to Russia and had a medical examination, then returned home and flew back to Russia. All this happened in one month. The flights took a very long time. To be honest, it hasn’t been easy.
Before signing a contract with Khimki, I spoke with the head coach. It was during winter vacation. Talalaev explained how the club was structured, its requirements and what I should do on the pitch. Of course, I liked everything. I’m glad to be in Khimki now. If something didn’t suit me, I simply wouldn’t move to a new club. So everything is fine in Khimki.
– Why are you playing with a mask?
— The reason is the injury that I received in the match against Akron, when I was still playing for Dynamo. At the end of the season this will finally end and the mask can be taken off, that’s what the doctor said. In general, I’m not particularly comfortable, it prevents me from seeing the terrain, everything is as inconvenient as possible. At the same time, I myself chose the design of the mask, the color, it was made for me and brought first to Moscow, and then to Makhachkala. Now I play there in Khimki, and I don’t come to the matches at all without it,” Abdullahi said on the air of the program “Our Foreigners”.
“Khimki” (61 points) are at the top of the First League standings, Dynamo Makhachkala (60) are second.
