Earlier it was reported that Alberto would sign a new two-year agreement
Genoa officially announced the extension of the contract with the head coach Alberto Gilardino.
Earlier it was reported that the 41-year-old coach had reached a verbal agreement with the club’s management regarding the continuation of the contract. It was assumed that Alberto would soon sign a new two-year agreement. His salary, according to preliminary information, under the new contract will be about a million euros.
Recently, information has appeared that the Griffins coach has received offers from other clubs – Fiorentina, Monza and Torino. It was even reported that Fabio Grosso could become Alberto’s replacement.
Gilardino, 41, a former high-profile striker, has been in charge of Genoa since December 2022. Under his leadership, the team returned to Serie A at the end of last season.
In the current Italian Championship, the Genoese club, for which Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky plays (29 matches, three goals and two assists), is in 11th place with the remainder of the round. On May 24, the Genoese will end the season with a home match against Bologna.
