Pusic was Slot’s assistant at Feyenoord
Donetsk mentor Shakhtar Marino Pusic commented on the appointment Arne Slota for the post of head coach Liverpool.
“I think that, following football all over the world, Liverpool did a great job by signing him. I think he’s perfect for Liverpool.”
“His philosophy is always changing or adapting to circumstances. But overall, this is the dominant style of play. What exactly does this mean? This means the right build-up, finding space, finding suitable positions for good players to use their talents and qualities, with great intensity, pressing.”
Pusic worked as an assistant to Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot. In October, the Bosnian specialist terminated his contract with Feille and officially became the new head coach of Shakhtar, signing a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season. This season, Pusic scored a “golden double”, triumphing in the UPL and the Ukrainian Cup.
Liverpool have already officially announced that Arne Slot will become the team’s new head coach from June 1, 2024, replacing Jurgen Klopp. According to preliminary data, Liverpool will pay Feyenoord 13-15 million euros for this transfer.
In the current championship, the Merseyside club finished third ahead of schedule, losing the title race to Manchester City and Arsenal. Feyenoord under the leadership of Slot became the silver medalist of the Eredivisie.
