There is strong interest in the sensational Ukrainian striker from major clubs in various top championships
Shortlist of clear contenders for striker Girona by Artem Dovbik includes top championship clubs – Atlético, Chelsea, Milan And Napoli. It is reported that these clubs have been showing interest in the Ukrainian striker for several months now.
At the same time, applicants for the 26-year-old striker will have to fork out money. Girona is unlikely to agree to let such an important player go for less than 45 million euros. It was previously reported that the White-Reds are ready to listen to offers for Dovbik, starting from 40 million.
All four clubs mentioned at different times have already appeared among the likely buyers of the Ukrainian forward. Besides them, interest in Artem was attributed to Barcelona and Juventus.
Dovbik moved to Girona from SK Dnepr-1 in August last year. The Catalan club paid about seven million euros for the transfer, receiving just over 50% of the rights to the player.
Dovbik’s current contract with Girona runs until 2028. The club is actively working on a new agreement for Artem, in which it intends to stipulate a guaranteed buyout amount for the player in the amount of 100 million. At the same time, according to available information, the Ukrainian forward’s clause is currently relatively small and amounts to less than 30 million euros.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian, who scored 21 goals and nine assists in 37 matches this season, was among ten nominees for the 2023/24 Player of the Season award in La Liga. He also became one of the 15 winners included in the final list of the “Team of the Season 2023/24” in the Spanish La Liga.
The Ukrainian forward was named player of the month in Girona four times this season – in November and December 2023, as well as in January and March 2024. The forward also became the best player in La Liga in December.
Girona, who had never finished higher than 10th place, secured early entry into the Champions League this season. In the last round, the Catalan team secured third place one round before the finish of the championship.
On May 24, Michel’s team will host Granada, which has already been eliminated. In this match, Dovbik will try to catch up with Alexander Serloth in the La Liga scorers race. The Ukrainian has scored 21 goals in the championship, but the Norwegian has two more goals after his recent poker against Andrei Lunin.
