— I haven’t communicated with anyone at all. Maybe only with [Александром] Soldierenkov. The computer saved me. I did not communicate with the parents. God forbid, if I call my mother once every four days for a minute or two, and that’s it. I haven’t talked to my best friends.
At that moment, thoughts crept in that maybe this was it. Maybe you won’t be able to achieve your dream, etc. And you may need to complete it completely. This thought occurred to me, but what if I gave up, no, that never happened. And deep down, I won’t be able to accept that. There’s no chance. It’s not in my nature.
About a month ago there was a period where I didn’t talk to anyone. I hardly went out anywhere either. Only to and from training.
I don’t like words when you can’t help me. What’s the point of telling me something? This will help someone. I’m the type of person that this isn’t going to help. In my mentality, either you really help and at the same time the person will feel better, or you don’t.
Just two or three weeks ago I went to Moscow to consult osteopaths. I didn’t really like one, but the other, on the recommendation of Kolya Rasskazov, twisted my vertebrae, turned me, including the cervical spine, examined the situation, gave his opinion , prescribed me a sufficient amount of medication, special exercises. I came back to the club and it was a lot easier, but again, it’s still difficult, but I’m finally seeing progress that I haven’t seen in five and a half months.
Before this trip, I was already preparing for another operation, I thought it would be necessary, because it was not normal. What should I expect?
To be honest, it’s a very serious injury. And to some extent, the same Achilles or crosses have been studied much more, it is clearer how to recover from them. It’s just that often those who encounter this eventually end up. When I was in Cologne they gave me an example [Никласа] Dortmund fullkrug [«Боруссия”], who had this on two legs. He had a very long rehabilitation, around 12 months, maybe a little more. And now he has cartilage problems on both legs, but, pah-pah, he plays in the Champions League final, he scores, everything is fine.
We have a rehabilitator who recently joined the team; he comes from Germany and also studied in Cologne. A good guy, sensible, understanding, competent. I’m glad that such a guy came to us, we needed someone like that, I’ve been talking about it at the club for a long time. With him we have a program that we follow and we progress.
— What is your optimistic forecast?
– Since the start of training camp.
—What if you need six more months?
