“Almost all RPL teams have caught up. We don’t know how the match between the first and the 15th team will end” – Nepomniachtchi

Russian coach Valery Nepomnyashchiy said that the level of teams in the Russian Championship this season has become more equal and the result of each individual match has become difficult to predict.

Ahead of the final round of the WORLD RPL, Dynamo leads the standings with 56 points, three points ahead of third-placed Krasnodar. Second place is occupied by Zenit (54 points), which will play at home against Rostov in the 30th round. Dynamo will meet Krasnodar in the final round. All the Blue and Whites need to do is draw to become champions.

— I can’t even imagine who can become RPL champion. My sympathies are with Dynamo, but that doesn’t mean anything. Of course, it would be nice if we had a new champion. This suggests that, all things being equal, we have competition at all levels of the tournament. There is a serious relegation battle going on, with five teams fighting for survival. Three teams are fighting for the championship, and there was a struggle in the Premier League as well.

It is important that there is drama and that there are no passing plays. It’s more interesting for fans to watch this kind of football. But I heard sarcastic comments: “What’s so interesting about our championship?” Yes, maybe we are not ready to play the Champions League final, but we don’t know how the match between the first and 15th team in the championship will end. I mean Baltika, everyone is afraid of it. Therefore, it is said that all teams are almost equal,” Nepomnyashchy said as quoted by “Championship”.

The final round of the MIR RPL will take place on May 25. All 8 matches will begin simultaneously at 4:30 p.m. Moscow time and will be broadcast live on the channels of the Match! sub-holding, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
