Kompany officially becomes Bayern’s new head coach

The Belgian’s contract runs until the summer of 2027

Belgian specialist Vincent Company officially became the new head coach Bavaria.

The 38-year-old coach’s contract runs until June 30, 2027. It was previously reported that Burnley, where the Belgian worked this season, will receive compensation in the amount of 10-12 million euros for early termination of the contract.

Kompany began his coaching career at Anderlecht before taking over at Burnley in the summer of 2022. In his first season in England, the Belgian lifted Burnley from the Championship to the Premier League, but at the end of the 2023/24 season, the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League.

In mid-May, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel announced that he would leave the club at the end of the season. The coach negotiated with the Munich team about extending the contract, but in the end the parties did not agree.

Bayern finished third in the Bundesliga standings, behind Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart. Munich ended the season without trophies, being eliminated in the second round of the German Cup and the semi-finals of the Champions League.
