Attack Edinson Cavani announced the end of playing for the national team Uruguay.

The forward made his debut for the Sky Blues in February 2008. During this time, Edinson played 136 matches for the national team, in which he scored 58 goals and gave 17 assists. The 37-year-old’s last match in the national team was a match with Ghana in the group round of the 2022 World Cup.

Cavani won the 2011 Copa America with Uruguay. Edinson also reached the semi-finals of the 2010 World Championship.

The Uruguay national team will play in Group C of the 2024 Copa America. The Sky Blues will face Panama, Bolivia and the USA in the group stage.
