Last year, Daniel lost to Alexander, and recently won the “interim” IBF title in a fight with Hrgovic
Holder of the “interim” IBF heavyweight title Daniel Dubois stated his desire to have a rematch with the absolute world heavyweight champion Alexander Usik.
“I want to become a world champion. I want to get Usyk again. I want to win the world title and achieve my goal,” said the Briton.
Let us remind you that on the night of June 2, Dubois finished the fight with Filip Hrgovic in the eighth round. The fight took place as part of the “5 on 5” event in Riyadh. Later there, Zhang Zhilei defeated Deontay Wilder with a spectacular knockout.
Earlier, at the end of August 2023, Dubois lost to Usik by technical knockout in Wroclaw, Poland.
The Ukrainian heavyweight, who on the night of May 19 inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight for the title of undisputed champion, has already agreed on a rematch with the “Gypsy King,” who officially activated this option. The second fight between Usik and Fury will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
Meanwhile, negotiations are underway for a fight between Dubois and his compatriot Anthony Joshua. Preliminarily, the fight between two representatives of the heavyweight division is planned for September 21. The arena for the event will be Wembley Stadium.
