Proposal to abandon VAR system will be rejected at meeting of Premier League clubs, media write

The majority of English Premier League (EPL) clubs will oppose the abandonment of the video assistant referee (VAR) system, reports The Telegraph.

Earlier it was reported that Wolverhampton put the issue of abandoning the VAR system on the agenda of the general meeting of clubs, which will take place on June 6. According to the source, Wolves will fail to gain support from Premier League teams.

It should be noted that Liverpool, Manchester United, West Ham and a few other clubs are in favor of maintaining the VAR system, but making improvements to it.

In April, it became known that the Swedish Football Association had abandoned VAR.
