Shevchenko set a task for the team
Head of the Football Association of Ukraine Andrey Shevchenko commented on the upcoming performance of the Ukrainian team at the European Championships 2024.
“The goal is to get out of the group. I think we can do it, but we’ll see. We are the youngest team in the tournament, but we have a chance. And we have great motivation, we play for a people who never give up.”
On June 7, the blue-yellows will play a test match with the Polish team. Next, on the 11th, Sergei Rebrov’s team will play in Chisinau with the Moldavian national team. The other day, Rebrov’s team played out a goalless draw with Germany (0:0).
On June 12, the Ukrainian team will move from Nuremberg to Wiesbaden, its base city during the continental championship. Wiesbaden is the capital of the federal state of Hesse in western Germany, located next to Mainz and Darmstadt, near Frankfurt.
At the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, the blue-yellows will successively play with the national teams of Romania (June 17), Slovakia (June 21) and Belgium (June 26). The matches will take place in Munich, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, respectively.
Ukraine will play at the European Championships for the fourth time. The blue-and-yellows have consistently competed in the finals of the continental championship since 2012.
Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The matches of the European Championship will be held in arenas in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
