Athletistic / Football. Lokomotiv head coach Mikhail Galaktionov reacted to the departure of striker Artyom Dzyuba from the railway camp. The mentor thanked the 35-year-old footballer for his teamwork.
“I can only express words of gratitude to Artyom for the time spent in Lokomotiv. In the most difficult situation in which we found ourselves a year and a half ago, when many did not believe in us at all, the team showed incredible desire, and Dzyuba himself played the most wonderful matches, Artyom – a great master, a personality who helped a lot and did a lot for the club, both in the lives of all days than in the game,” quotes Galaktionov, the Lokomotiv press service.
At the end of May, Lokomotiv announced that Artyom Dzyuba would leave the team as a free agent at the end of the 2023/2024 season. The striker has been a railway player since February 2023.
On June 5, Loko announced the extension of the agreement by Mikhail Galaktionov. From now on, the 40-year-old Russian is linked to the red-greens with a contract until June 30, 2026.
Last season, Lokomotiv took fourth place in the Russian Championship.
