Sarri: I had contact with Sevilla, but we didn’t agree on plans and the negotiations broke down

Mentor remains unemployed after leaving Lazio in March

Former Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri said that he had negotiated with Seville, but the parties did not reach an agreement.

“I had contact with Seville, but our plans were different, so the negotiations failed. I want to return as soon as possible. It’s difficult now, I only have decisions from abroad, but it’s hard for me to accept,” said the Italian.

In April, Sarri received offers to lead Newcastle and West Ham. Prior to this, the coach rejected the option of moving to Nottingham Forest.

In March, Lazio officially announced Sarri’s resignation as head coach. The coach independently resigned from his position, despite the contract until the summer of 2025.

Sevilla have changed three coaches during the 2023/24 season. In June, Javier Garcia Pimienta became the new coach of the Nerviones.
