Rebrov: Tomorrow we will be very serious, for us this is the last meeting before the start of the Euro

The Ukrainian national team will hold a sparring match with Moldova

Head coach Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov commented on the upcoming test match with Moldova.

“It is very important to give all players the opportunity to play. It is impossible for a player to come to the national team and not play at all in a friendly match. Everyone got a chance, will have a chance tomorrow. I don’t know which composition is the main one and which is the minor one.”

“In any case, the result is important, but it does not come to the fore. We carried out a rotation and provided playing time to all players. Now normal, systematic preparations for the Euro are underway.”

“I think everyone understands that Andrei will take the field [Лунин]. We have very good goalkeepers who play at a high level. I’m happy with the competition that there is in this position.”

“I watched a lot of Moldova matches, they are a very strong team. I saw the game against Poland, when the Moldovans lost 0:2 and snatched victory. This team took fourth place in the group, but deserved more. Tomorrow we will be very serious, for us this is the last meeting before the start of the Euro.”

“Why is Moldova not a very serious opponent if they beat Poland? Evaluated by the number of victories in the qualifying tournament? All fights are very important for us. Different opponents with different styles of play. I have great respect for the Moldavian national team, I watched many of their matches. I think this is a very strong team.”

The sparring between Ukraine and Moldova will take place in Chisinau on June 11. Starts at 19:00. This will be the last test match of Rebrov’s team during preparation for Euro 2024. Earlier in Nuremberg, the blue-yellows tied with Germany (0:0), and in Warsaw they lost to Poland (1:3).

On June 12, the Ukrainian team will move to Wiesbaden, its base city during the continental championship. At the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, the blue-yellows will play against the national teams of Romania (June 17), Slovakia (June 21) and Belgium (June 26). The matches will take place in Munich, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, respectively.
