LNZ decided on a new head coach. The Cherkasy club officially announced the appointment of the Spaniard Andres Carrascowho previously worked in the structure Shakhtarfor a vacant position.
According to some reports, Andres’ competitors were Slovenian Slavisa Stojanovic, known for his work in the national teams of Slovenia and Latvia, Serbian Red Star and Bulgarian Levski, as well as 46-year-old Austrian Tomas Daras, the current coach of the LASK club.
46-year-old Carrasco began his coaching career in the structure of Barcelona, then worked in Georgia, and was a mentor of Shakhtar U-19 (2018/19), youth and national teams of Kuwait.
In the 2023/24 season, the Spaniard was the head coach of Dinamo Tbilisi. Under his leadership, the giant of Georgian football took only fifth place in the championship, failing to qualify for European competition.
Let us remind you that yesterday LNZ officially announced the end of cooperation with head coach Oleg Dulub. Assistant coach Alexander Granovsky also left the Cherkassy club.
Earlier, in early June, Viktor Kravchenko became the new president of LNZ. The 27-year-old functionary previously served as vice president.
LNZ spent its debut season in the elite of Ukrainian football. Under the leadership of Dulub, the Cherkassy team ultimately took seventh place.
