President of the Urals Grigory Ivanov explained why Evgeny Averyanov was approved as head coach of the Yekaterinburg club.
The appointment of the 45-year-old specialist was announced on Tuesday June 11. His coaching staff will include Oleg Shatov and Sergei Tomarov.
— Averyanov is our coach, whom we wanted to see at the Urals. He is our student, was our football player and is now our coach. Averyanov’s soul lies in the Urals. He will not work for money, but according to his conscience. He will lose the match and he will be as upset as me and all the fans. Averyanov will try to improve us,” Sport24 quotes Ivanov.
Averyanov is from the Sverdlovsk region. During his playing career, he played for Ural from 1998 to 2008 and played 294 matches for the team. Since 2009, the specialist has been working in the club system of Yekaterinburg in various coaching positions.
Last season, the team was led by Belarusian specialist Viktor Gancharenko, who left his post after the first WINLINE transition match with Akron. Averyanov was preparing the team for the second leg of the play-offs. Based on the results of the two-match confrontation “Ural” left the MIR RPL and will spend next season in the MELBET First League.
