Feyenoord appointed Dane Priske as head coach

Slot’s successor previously led Midtjylland and Sparta Prague to the championship

Feyenoord officially announced that the Dane will become the new head coach of the team from July 1 Brian Priske. He will replace in this post Arne Slotawho previously left for Liverpool.

The Dutch giants agreed on a transfer with Sparta Prague, where the specialist worked for the last two years. The contract with the 47-year-old mentor was signed for three years – until the summer of 2027.

Priske was a fairly well-known defender (Aalborg, Genk, Portsmouth, Bruges and other clubs, 27 matches for the Danish national team), and his first independent coaching experience turned into a triumph for Briand – he made Midtjylland the champion of Denmark 2019/20.

In 2022, the Dane took over Sparta and immediately won the first championship title in nine years. In the 2023/24 season, Priske consolidated his success by scoring a golden double with the Prague team.

Last season, Feyenoord, under the leadership of Slot, became the vice-champion of the Netherlands, losing seven points to PSV.
