“Do I know what Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappé were doing at my age? To be honest, I don’t think about it much because the times were completely different. First of all, I try to focus on the present moment, on performance at Euro-2024, during matches.
People tend to make such comparisons, but I try to be myself, to show my game, so that they appreciate me for who I am, for the fact that I am Lamin Yamal”, quotes Yamal in Mundo Deportivo.
During the 2023/2024 season, 16-year-old Yamal played 50 matches, scored seven goals and provided 10 assists. He helped Barcelona finish second in La Liga and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
At Euro 2024, the Spanish national team will play in Group B, where their opponents will be the teams of Italy (current European champion), Croatia and Albania.
