Marino was ahead of Vernidub and Shovkovsky in the vote
Mentor Shakhtar Marino Pusic became best UPL coach season 2023/24 based on the results of a survey of Ukrainian Premier League clubs.
Ranked second in terms of number of votes Yuri Vernidub from Krivbassa. The third is a mentor Dynamo Alexander Shovkovsky.
52-year-old Pusic spent most of his career as an assistant, gaining independent coaching experience only in Twente (2017 – 2019). He headed the Donetsk club in October 2024, replacing Patrick van Leeuwen.
The Bosnian coped with his task, winning the golden double with the Miners at the end of the season and allowing the club to qualify for the main stage of the 2024/25 Champions League.
Let us remind you that the UPL previously announced other laureates of the past football year. Nikolay Balakin was recognized as the best referee of the 2023/24 season, and Dynamo player Georgy Buschan became the best goalkeeper.
