This Friday, the 14th, Borussia Dortmund announced former player Nuri Sahin, just 35 years old, as the team’s new coach
After leaving Edin Terzicrunner-up of the Champions League as Borussia Dortmund, the German club announced its new coach. With the market very busy, the Aurinegros didn’t go far to seek reinforcement. Former assistant to the last commission, Nuri Sahinjust 35 years old, was chosen to lead the team.
Sahin is Turkish and a former football player, he retired in 2022 and, shortly afterwards, took charge of the Antalyaspor, from Türkiye. It is interesting to highlight that the coach, when he was still a midfielder, was champion of the Bundesliga with Borussia Doertmund, in the 2010/11 season, aged 22.
The Turk was even revealed by the German club’s youth teams and stood out in a great moment for Dortmund, when he was coach for Jurgen Klopp. However, shortly after the German title, the midfielder was sold to Real Madrid, for 10 million euros. Sahin’s new contract with the team is for three seasons, until mid-2027.
