Ryan received a red card for rough play against Germany
Defender Scotland international Ryan Porteous suspended for the next two matches and will miss the remaining matches of the national team in the group stage European Championship 2024.
Porteous received a red card in the opening match of Euro 2024 with the German national team. In the first half, the defender jumped into the foot of German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The UEFA Disciplinary Committee classified the episode as “serious foul play” on the part of the Scot.
The 25-year-old defender plays for Watford. He has 12 caps for the Scotland national team, in which Ryan scored one goal.
The Scottish team takes last place in Group A. In the second round, the Tartan Army will meet Switzerland on June 19.
