One of the leaders of the Slovak team expects an extremely difficult confrontation in the second round
Midfielder Slovakian national team Ondrej Duda commented on the upcoming fight with Ukrainian national team in the second round of Group E at European Championship 2024.
“I feel good. The more matches, the better. We definitely approach this game with humility. We definitely want to succeed. Three years ago we lost after our first victory, but that’s football. It can be brutal. But as long as we have the opportunity to progress, we will do our best to achieve success.”
“Our game [против Бельгии] we sent a message to the fans that we are here for them. That they can count on us.”
“It will be a kind of small finale for us. For me, every game in the tournament is like that. Both teams will want to win. It’s hard to say how this will turn out, but we will do everything we can to win the game.”
Let us remind you that on June 17, Slovakia sensationally beat Belgium (1:0). Ukraine, in turn, suffered a crushing defeat from Romania (0:3). Sergei Rebrov’s team closes the standings of Group E after the first round.
Today the Ukrainian team arrived in Dusseldorf, where its second round match against Slovakia will take place. The date of the match is June 21, the start time is 16:00 Kyiv time. The game at the Merkur Spire Arena will be officiated by a referee team led by Englishman Michael Oliver.
Rebrov’s team will complete the group stage with a match against Belgium on June 26 in Stuttgart.
