After another stumble in Series B, Santos coach Fábio Carille saw the draw as positive and explained why he was satisfied
After yet another stumble Santos in Series B of the Brasileirão, the team’s coach, Fábio Carille spoke at a press conference about the commitment he had against the Mirassollast Tuesday, 25th. On that occasion, he admitted the team’s poor performance, and therefore preferred to see a positive side to the point achieved away from home.
“A performance below what we imagined, the first minutes already raised concerns about simple passing errors. Pass to do it on the foot, turn and come out on the other side. We made a lot of mistakes, then it took us a while to improve. We didn’t improve technically, but we fought more, we stopped the ball, we didn’t let the rival circulate the ball in the area. Our performance was not great. Getting a point ends up being good. We played better against Botafogo and didn’t get any points. We need to improve a lot if we want something in the competition“, he commented.

Afterwards, the commander continued talking about knowing how to weigh the circumstances to see a good result, even without the three points won. The point of comparison, once again, was the confrontation against Botafogo-SPin which he believes his team played better and ended up being defeated.
“It’s one thing to see the result and another to see the performance. I drew with the rival when I was better, but I lost when I was better. The sequence is not good. In the game against Botafogo, we created and performed well, but the goalkeeper saved a lot. We need to be humble, we can’t have volume only inside Vila. The fields are providing conditions.“, added Carille.
Now, Santos is already focusing on preparing for the next round of the competition, where they will face Chapecoense, inside home. The clash will be held next Monday, 1st, with Peixe aiming to win again to get back into the group for access to the national elite.
