De Zerbi officially becomes new coach of Marseille

Italian specialist Roberto De Zerbi officially became the new head coach MarseilleThe coach signed a three-year contract.

The Italian spent last season in Brighton. It was reported that Marseille activated the clause of the former Shakhtar coach, which amounts to 6 million euros. At the end of June, the French club reached an agreement in principle with Roberto and his coaching staff.

Let’s remember that Brighton officially announced the Italian’s future departure in May. In mid-June, the Seagulls appointed 31-year-old St. Pauli coach Fabian Hurtzeler as the new head coach.

Marseille finished eighth in Ligue 1 at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The team finished the season under the leadership of 70-year-old Jean-Louis Gasset, who replaced Gennaro Gattuso in February.
