The Brazilian has signed a five-year contract with the Bianconeri
Juventus officially announced the signing of the national team midfielder Brazil by Douglas Louis. The 26-year-old player moved from Aston Villas and signed a contract with the Turin club until the summer of 2029.
According to information from open sources, the transfer amount was approximately 50 million euros.
Arsenal were reported to be interested in the central midfielder during the past season.
Luis joined Manchester City in 2017 and was immediately loaned out to Girona for two years. In 2019, Aston Villa bought the Brazilian’s contract from the Citizens for less than €17 million.
In the 2023/24 season, Douglas played 53 matches for the Birmingham club in all competitions, scored 10 goals and made the same number of assists.
At the 2024 Copa America, Luis played for the Brazilian national team for only 18 minutes, coming on as a substitute in the second round match against Paraguay (4:1). After two rounds, Selecao is in second place in Group D with four points. On the night of July 3, Dorival Junior’s team will face Colombia.
Juventus finished third in Serie A in the 2023/24 season, while Aston Villa finished fourth in the Premier League. Both clubs will play in the main draw of the Champions League next season.
