The Ukrainian team lost another leader before the start of the historic tournament in Paris.
The Ukrainian Olympic team continues to lose players before the Paris Games begin. Earlier it became known that representatives of Premier League clubs Mikhail Mudrik, Ilya Zabarny and Yegor Yarmolyuk, who were not released by their clubs, will miss the tournament.
Goalkeeper Anatoly Trubin will also miss the competition. The Benfica goalkeeper will also miss the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris due to a decision by the club’s management.
“Yes, I will not go to the Olympics,” Trubin told the Tribuna portal.
Let’s remember that Benfica has already sent a letter to the Ukrainian Football Association informing them of their refusal to release Anatoly from the competition. The Eagles management agreed to release Japanese goalkeeper Leo Kokubo only for the Olympics.
So, three main candidates remain for the position of goalkeeper of the Ukrainian Olympic team – Kirill Fesyun (Shakhtar), Georgy Ermakov (Alexandria), Yakov Kinareikin (Dnepr-1).
At the 2024 Olympic Games, the “blue-yellows” will play in the same group with Argentina, Morocco and Iraq.
It was previously known whether Lionel Messi would play against the Ukrainians in the tournament.
