The second leg between Sturm and Dynamo will take place on August 9
Head coach of the Austrian Sturm Christian Ilzer commented on the defeat of his team from Kyiv Dynamo (0:1) in the first match of the third qualifying round Champions League.
“We absolutely can work with such a result of the first match. Today we wanted to achieve just such a result, which would leave us every chance in the second leg to reach the next round. And we have solved this problem. Especially when you consider that the away goals rule no longer applies. So we will do our best to tip the scales in our favor next week.”
“As for today’s match, in general, Dynamo deserved to win. Partly because we didn’t use our scoring chances.”
In the first match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League, Dynamo defeated Sturm 1:0. The victory for the people of Kiev was brought by the exact blow of Alexander Karavaev.
The second leg between Sturm and Dynamo will take place on Tuesday, August 9th. The winner of the confrontation will play with the winner of the Benfica-Mitjylland pair in the play-off round of the Champions League qualification.
