Milan legend, 50, tries to restart career after Salernitana failure
Italian Pisa announced the appointment Filippo Inzaghi for the position of head coach.
The 50-year-old specialist returned to the profession five months after he was fired from Salernitana for poor results.
The famous former footballer (Juventus, Milan, the Italian national team) is clearly inferior in the coaching field to his younger brother Simone, the current coach of Inter.
“Superpippo” didn’t have much success at the helm of Milan (2013-2015), after which he headed mostly mid-level clubs: Venezia, Bologna, Benevento, Brescia, Reggina, Salernitana. And now – a new attempt to restart his coaching career in Serie B.
Pisa is a modest club that has not been at the elite level since 1991. Last season, the team finished 13th in the second-strongest Italian division. Two players of the current team participated in Euro 2024. Captain Marius Marin and winger Jan Mlakar played four matches each in the starting lineups of the national teams of Romania and Slovakia, respectively. In the recent past (2015-2017), Pisa was coached by another Milan legend – Gennaro Gattuso.
