Lunev called Shunin a Dynamo legend

Goalie “Dynamo” Andrei Lunev called the goalkeeper Anton Chounina legend of the Moscow club.

On July 1, it became known that 37-year-old Shunin had left the team after his contract expired. He spent 17 seasons at Dynamo. On June 18, Lunev signed a contract with Blue and White until 2026.

— Anton Shunin is a Dynamo legend. He spent his entire football career at this club. The fans are sad that Shunin has left. This is football, everything is fine,” Lunev was quoted as saying by RB Sport.

Shunin is a graduate of Dynamo; he made his debut for the club in 2007. As part of the “blue and white” team, he played 366 matches in all tournaments and missed 408 goals.

As part of Dynamo, Shunin became a three-time bronze medalist of the Russian Championship (2008, 2021/22, 2023/24). He ranks second in Dynamo history in terms of matches played, just behind Alexander Novikov (395). The goalkeeper is also a member of the Lev Yashin club, which includes goalkeepers who played for Russian or Soviet clubs and recorded at least 100 clean sheets.
