Last campaign, Viktor scored a goal and made an assist in 19 matches for Poltava
Vorskla announced that it had reached an agreement with Miner on extending the defender’s lease Victor Kornienko for one more season.
25-year-old Kornienko was born in Poltava, and has been in the Shakhtar system since 2016. Due to frequent injuries, he dropped out of the Miners’ main squad, and since the summer of 2023, he has been playing on loan in Vorskla.
Last season, Kornienko played 19 matches for Poltava in the UPL, scoring one goal and making one assist.
This off-season, Poltava has already managed to extend the contract with the team’s main goalkeeper Pavel Isenko, and also signed the best player of the Montenegrin championship of the 2023/24 season, forward Demir Shkriel.
Vorskla finished 9th in the last UPL draw. The opening match of the 2024/2025 season will be played by Serhiy Dolganskyy’s team against Shakhtar. The base date of the tour is August 3.
