Athletistic / Football. Lokomotiv Moscow head coach Mikhail Galaktionov answered a question about the changes in the composition of the railway workers during the summer off-season. Several leaders left the red-greens at once.
“The latest changes in the lineup were unexpected. I mean the departure of Glushenkov and Miranchuk. These were the players who formed the system of our team, around whom Lokomotiv’s game was built. For me personally, their departure was very unexpected. The management understands that we need this position. We need a strong football player who will add quality and will be able to make a difference,” Galaktionov quotes Euro-Futbol.Ru.
In the summer of 2024, Lokomotiv sold Maxim Glushenkov to Zenit for 600 million rubles. And Anton Miranchuk, Rifat Zhemaletdinov, Marinato Guilherme and Daniil Khudyakov left the railwaymen as a free agent.
Lokomotiv took fourth place in the Russian Championship in the 2023/2024 season. Galaktionov’s team is 4 points behind RPL winners Zenit.
