Athletistic / Football. England manager Gareth Southgate believes the English media are deliberately publishing classified information ahead of Euro 2024 matches. He accused the media of trying to undermine the situation within the national team.

“We’re trying to win a major international tournament and our own media are leaking tactical information and they’re doing it two hours after training has finished. I’ll be corrected if I say they got it straight from camp and, maybe they did, but how is that going to help the team?

How will that help England to give the Swiss, who might have expected us to come in a different formation, three days to prepare for what we actually prepared for?

“I just had to say it because we have to work through this situation now. It’s tough, it’s tougher for us than it needs to be, but we’re still moving forward!” Southgate was quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

Gareth Southgate was probably referring to the fact that a few days before the Euro 2024 quarter-final match against Switzerland, information was leaked to the media that the England team would take to the pitch with three central defenders.

England will face the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the 2024 European Championship on July 10. The match will take place in Dortmund and will kick off at 22:00 Moscow time.
