Elina shared her emotions after today’s match at Wimbledon 2024
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina gave a comment after the victory over Chinese Xin Yu Wang in the 1/8 final match Wimbledon 2024.
“Of course, it was a great performance from my side. Today is a very difficult day for the Ukrainians. So it was not easy to concentrate on the match. It was difficult to read the news from the morning, so it was extremely difficult to be on the court. I am glad that I played like this and achieved the victory.”
Elina spent the entire game wearing a black mourning ribbon in connection with today’s massive Russian attack on Ukraine.
Svitolina has reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the third time in her career, where she will play fourth seed Elena Rybakina, who today defeated the “neutral” Anna Kalinskaya by withdrawal. Elina’s match against Rybakina is scheduled for tomorrow, July 9.
