Miner officially announced the loan of the midfielder Wolfsburg Bartol Franjic.
The agreement between the parties is calculated until the end of the 2024/25 season. The Miners also have the right to buy out the player at the end of the season.
In 2022, Franjic moved to Wolfsburg from Dinamo Zagreb. In his first season, he played only five matches in the Bundesliga (one assist), an injury preventing him from fully developing.
Bartol played the 2023/24 season on loan for Darmstadt: 20 appearances (14 in the starting lineup), one assist, five yellow cards. The team failed to maintain its place in the elite – relegation from last place.
Shakhtar won the “golden double” last season, becoming champions and winning the Ukrainian Cup. The miners will play directly in the group round of the Champions League.
Marino Pusic’s team will open the new season with an away match against Vorskla. The base date for the first round of the UPL is August 3.
