Inter sign Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez

The Spaniard has signed a five-year deal with Inter

Inter announced the transfer of the goalkeeper Genoa of Josep Martinez.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper’s transfer fee has not been disclosed. He has signed a contract with the Nerazzurri until the summer of 2029.

The Spaniard became Inter’s third summer signing – the Nerazzurri had previously signed Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, as well as 18-year-old midfielder Domzale and Slovenia youth team player Luka Topalovic.

Martinez has been playing for Genoa since the summer of 2022. At first, the Spaniard played for the Genoese on loan from Leipzig, and in the summer of 2023 he became their full-fledged player after buying out his contract.

Last season, Josep Martinez played 36 matches for Genoa in Serie A. He helped the Genoese club finish in Serie A in 11th place. Let us recall that Martinez’s teammate in Genoa was Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky.

Inter won the Scudetto last season, with Simone Inzaghi’s team finishing first with a 19-point lead over their closest rivals Milan. The Nerazzurri will begin the new season on August 17 with a match against Genoa.
